for things like prednisone or apoquel, the first prescription instructions are often different from refills when used long term. For example, the first prescription of apoquel would be for BID dosing for two weeks. If it’s working well, then we go to SID dosing. So I would like to prescribe the first two week script. And then enter a new prescription for SID dosing that is available for the client to pick up when needed. Don’t want that rx to be in an invoice yet and can’t just be a refill because the instructions are different.
